I’m excited to share that my first solo exhibition in Bunbury is just around the corner!
This collection celebrates the birds that brighten our days here in Australia, and it’s been such a joy to create. If you’ve been following my bird art journey, I’d love to see you there.
What You’ll See:
The exhibition features a range of original bird paintings, capturing their colour, personality and little moments of charm. Works have been created with watercolour on paper as well as acrylics on canvas, based on walks in the Bunbury area including Big Swamp, The Maidens and the Wildlife Park. This is an exhibition for bird lovers and to encourage everyone to appreciate our feathered friends. I have had a lifelong love/fascination/obsession for birds and after working on different art subjects over the last few years, I came back to birds and found combined my passions by creating artworks from my photographs of birds.
During my time as artist in residence at Stirling Street Arts Centre, I’ve been learning more about watercolours and directing my practice more that way, but after painting one large canvas I felt strongly compelled to do more. The works on display are a combination of mediums encompassing a real love of making these bird pictures.
